Hey Beautiful

  • Hey, Beautiful – January 19th, 2015

    Hey, Beautiful!

I hope that your day has been sunny and bright – if not literally, then figuratively!

Today we are going to be “takin care of business!”

    Today’s Assignment:

For this, you will need to get out your list of those things about yourself that are Tolerable or that you Cannot Stand.

Take a look at both of those lists.

Is there anything on either that you have no control over or cannot change?
Is there anything listed that happened in the past?
Any entry that is someone else’s opinion and not yours?
Can you move anything from the Cannot Stand to the Tolerable list?

Cross through those things that you cannot change, that you cannot control, or that are not your opinions. Has your list changed any?

Remember, Beautiful. Your feelings about yourself should come from a loving place, they should be YOUR OWN, and they should be applicable to you NOW!

If they aren’t or don’t – recognize the fact and dump those opinions!

    Hey, Beautiful!

Each one of us is a unique creature with specific goals, desires, and needs.

Personally, I need sleep, nourishing food, quiet time to myself, lots of water, daily exercise, sunshine, hugs, connection with my peeps, social contact, order… and probably a lot more!

Those needs are probably what I would consider to be my functional bottom line – meaning without them, I wouldn’t function at my best.

Today’s assignment is to consider (and journal about) your bottom line needs. What do you need – at the very least – to do and feel your best?

Now, are you GETTING what you need? If not, can you make plans to give yourself your own basic necessities?

    Devote

    Hey Beautiful!!!

I am smiling to know that you are here to read this! Hi to my friends who came over from Clear Vision Readings! Hi to everyone who has been following me all along!

    Today’s Assignment!

What do you like to do?

Do you have any hobbies, interests, skills, or talents that you adore?

Please make a list (in your journal) of your favorite pass-times.

Now, how much time are you devoting to your hobbies on a daily basis?

Do you make any time to work on something just because it pleases you? If not, why not?

Would you be able to carve out at least 15 minutes to devote, per day, toward doing something that pleases you? Of course you would! 15 minutes isn’t THAT big of a deal.

    OK? OK!

    Comparison

    Hey, Beautiful!

Today’s assignment is working with one lesson that I admit I need a reminder for a couple of times a year – AT LEAST!

There is always going to be someone better, prettier, thinner, funnier, more experienced, more collected, etc. than you. ALWAYS.

What you have to do is go ahead and do whatever you love anyway – despite the fact that there is someone else out there doing it ‘better’ than you. That is OK.

Instead of allowing your feelings of jealousy or inadequacy deter you from moving forward or doing what you love, LEARN from the other person. Figure out how to up your game. Figure out how to shine YOUR best light.

Cause at the end of the day, there is someone out there – maybe even lots of someones – who needs EXACTLY what YOU are offing. Not what that ‘better’ person has, but what YOU HAVE.

    Never forget that!

Take a few minutes to journal about how you compare yourself with others in your life – personally, professionally, spiritually… Do your comparisons keep you from moving forward in any area? Can you put your comparisons aside and allow yourself to shine?

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
    – Buddha

    Hey Beautiful!

Can I bring your attention back to the exercise from last week – the one where you listed all of your faults but chose to love yourself anyway.

It was a little difficult, huh? Have no fear. It served a purpose.

We are using this time to get to know ourselves and to fall in love with ourselves – faults and all.

I do not doubt that you have no problem extending love and care toward your friends, husbands, and children despite their flaws.

Now it is time to direct some of that compassion, acceptance, and unconditional love inward – toward yourself.

    Today’s Assignment:
You will need the lists you wrote the other day – and your awesome traits list .

Start with the things on your Cannot Stand list – read them aloud to yourself.

Follow that list with the things that are all right, but you would like to work on.

After those lists, say “But that’s OK because you’re…” before you read your awesome trait list to yourself.

Now, if there is anything on your Cannot Stand or Need To Work On list that you can change. Make a plan. Start small. Make changes in your life.

Don’t forget to keep up with your Dailies, especially recording at least two things you did during the day or noticed about yourself that pleased you.

    See you tomorrow!
